Jamie Sargeant began working with a stonemason in England about 30 years ago. He then became assistant to David Kindersley in Cambridge learning about lettering and stone carving. Five years later he went to Rattee & Kett to gain experience of historical building restoration and architectural ornament. He and three of his colleagues formed 'The Carving Workshop'. It soon evolved into an award winning partnership able to undertake large public art projects such as Victoria Square in Birmingham.

Jamie moved to Norfolk and set about building a solo career. In 2001 he migrated to Australia. His workshop is based on the Central Coast in NSW. From here he has established a reputation for delivering public art projects, garden sculpture, water features and bespoke playground infrastructure.
